Children's privacy notice.
This notice explains how Eve-Education, LLC (“Eve-Education”, “we”, “us”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MindHYVE.ai, Inc., collects, uses, discloses and deletes personal information about children who use ArthurAI™ FLE (Family Learning Edition) at fle.arthurgrid.ai. It is our notice to parents under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applies to every child profile on an FLE account, whatever the child's age.
It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms. Where this notice and another policy differ on a matter concerning a child's information in FLE, this notice controls.
1. How FLE is set up
An FLE account is opened by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older. Children do not create accounts, do not sign in with their own email address and are not asked for one. The parent adds a profile for each child and opens that child's learning space from the parent account. A family PIN set by the parent separates the children's spaces from the parent controls.
2. Information we collect
From the parent, at sign-up: first and last name, email address and password; the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy accepted and the time of acceptance; the time at which the parent confirmed that they are the parent or legal guardian of the children they will add and are 18 or older; a keyed one-way hash of the IP address used at sign-up (we do not store the address itself); and the household's time zone, taken from the parent's browser and changeable in the parent's settings, which sets when each day's time limit starts.
About each child, provided by the parent: first name (required); and, optionally, last name, age and school grade. We generate an internal username and credentials for the profile; these are not shown to the child and contain no contact information. We also record the parent's consent for that child (see section 4) and the controls the parent sets: whether the AI tutor is available, a daily time limit, a content level, and whether the AI tutor may use the child's Learning Profile to adapt its explanations. Learning Profile use is off unless the parent turns it on, when adding the child or later in the child's controls.
Created as the child uses FLE:
- conversations with the AI tutor — the child's messages and the tutor's replies — kept as the child's conversation history;
- a written summary of past tutor conversations that the tutor uses to continue where the child left off;
- the amount of active learning time each day, used to apply the daily time limit;
- answers to the Learning Profile questionnaire and the learning profile generated from them;
- courses and lessons, progress, quiz and practice results, certificates earned, and the child's own notes, highlights, flashcards and bookmarks;
- files, documents and images the child uploads to the tutor; and
- if the child uses voice, the words of the child's spoken questions (the transcript). We keep the words, not the recording: the recording of the child's voice, and the audio of the tutor's spoken replies, are not stored.
Technical information: performance and error telemetry needed to operate the service, and sign-in information held in the browser's local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers in FLE. Microsoft Clarity analytics runs only on the parent sign-up and checkout pages, masks page content in its session recordings, and does not run in a child's learning space.
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use FLE.
3. How we use it
- To provide FLE to the child: to build their courses and practice, run the AI tutor, adapt explanations to their level and learning profile, and keep their progress. The AI tutor uses the child's Learning Profile only if the parent has turned this on.
- To show the parent the child's learning record, including the child's conversations with the AI tutor (see section 6), and to apply the controls the parent has set.
- To keep the service secure and working, to provide support, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent children's personal information. We do not use it for advertising, including behavioral or targeted advertising, and we do not build profiles of children for any purpose other than their learning in FLE. We do not use children's information or other customer data to train AI models; our reasoning capability is built on Eve-Genesis™ synthetic data. Tutor messages are stored as the child's conversation history; they are not written to our operational usage logs, which record usage volumes rather than content.
4. Parental consent
We obtain the parent's consent before a child uses FLE:
- At sign-up, the parent must confirm: “I am the parent or legal guardian of the children I will add, and I am 18 or older.”
- For each child added, the parent must confirm: “I'm [child's name]'s parent or legal guardian, and I agree to them using ArthurAI™ FLE, including the AI tutor, under my supervision.” We record when that consent was given and by which parent account.
- The parent provides a payment card, through our payment processor Stripe, when starting the family plan.
The parent's email address is verified before the account can be used.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose children's personal information only to service providers that process it on our behalf to operate FLE, under contracts that limit their use of it to that purpose, and where required by law:
- Microsoft Azure — hosting, databases and file storage; AI processing through Azure AI Foundry; speech-to-text for voice questions; transactional email through Azure Communication Services; and operational telemetry.
- No other AI company — every AI request, including every model the Eve-Education™ F5/reasoner composes, runs on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, with no use of inputs or outputs for training. See Subprocessors.
- Stripe — payment processing for the parent's subscription. Stripe receives the parent's name, email address, billing address and payment card, and the number of children on the plan. It does not receive children's names, ages or learning information.
We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, or where necessary to protect the safety or security of a child, our users or the service.
6. Parents' rights
A parent may at any time, from the parent account or by contacting us:
- review the information we hold about their child — by opening the child's learning space, by reading the child's conversations with the AI tutor (see below), by choosing “Download a copy” in the child's controls, or by asking us for a copy;
- have it deleted — by choosing to delete the child's profile and information in the child's controls, or by asking us to delete it or to close the account;
- withdraw consent and stop further collection — by pausing the child in the child's controls, or by asking us to deactivate the child's profile. While a child is paused, the child cannot use FLE and we do not collect further information about them; their existing information is kept until the parent gives consent again or the information is deleted. A parent can also switch the AI tutor off for a child at any time in that child's controls; and
- change the controls for each child, and ask us to correct the child's name, age or grade.
Conversations with the AI tutor. A parent or legal guardian linked to the child on the FLE account can see a summary of the child's use of the AI tutor and a list of the child's most recent conversations, and can open any of those conversations to read the full text of the messages between the child and the tutor. This view is read-only: the parent cannot change or add to the conversation. A copy of all of the child's conversations is included when the parent downloads a copy of the child's information. Only a parent or legal guardian linked to that child can read the child's conversations in this way; other children and other FLE accounts cannot.
Access by our staff. Our platform staff may read a child's conversations with the AI tutor to answer a support request from the family or to look into a safety concern. Before opening a conversation, a staff member must sign in through our staff sign-in and write down the reason. Each access, with the date, the staff member and the reason, is recorded in our audit log.
To make a request to us, email privacy@mindhyve.ai or support@arthurgrid.ai from the email address on the FLE account. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it. If a parent has a child's information deleted, that child will no longer be able to use FLE. Deleting a child's profile and information cannot be undone.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep a child's personal information for as long as the child's profile is active and it is needed to provide FLE to that child. When a parent deletes it in the child's controls or asks us to delete it, or the account is closed, we delete the child's personal information, except for records we are required to keep by law — such as the record that consent was given and billing records, which do not contain the child's learning information. If our staff reviewed a safety concern about a child, we also keep a minimal record of that review — the type of concern and the dates, without the child's name or anything the child wrote.
If a family cancels its FLE plan, the children can no longer use their learning spaces, and we keep the children's information for 90 days after the plan ends. During that period the parent can still sign in to download a copy of each child's information, or restart the plan so the children can continue where they left off. At least 7 days before we delete anything, we email the parent with the date. At the end of the 90 days, or 7 days after that email if later, we delete the children's personal information, except for the records described above.
8. Security
Children's information is stored in Microsoft Azure, encrypted in transit and at rest, kept separate from other families' accounts, with access limited to personnel who need it to operate and support the service. See Security.
9. Changes to this notice
If we make a material change to how we collect, use or disclose children's information, we will notify the parent at the account email address and, where the law requires it, obtain new consent before the change applies to their child. The effective date at the top of this page shows the most recent version.
